Mace is the outer cover on nutmeg that is grown in the hill country of central Ceylon. 

Whole Mace can be used just like Bay Leaf to slowly release flavor in long-cooking recipes.

1)Try cracking the mace aril in half and use a piece to perfume Basmati rice,

2)Season some simmering chicken stock

3)Add Mace to a jar of homemade pickles.

4)Grind the Mace yourself with a spice grinder and dust the powder as required on your home made dishes.
