Homemade Cinnamon Toast Crunch Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of all purpose wheat flour, equivalent to 240g.
  • 1 cup (224g) of plant-based butter, cut into cold cubes.
  • 1 unit of vanilla extract, equivalent to 1 teaspoon.
  • 2 tablespoons of cold water, which is equivalent to 30ml.
  • 1/2 cup (100g) of sugar that is organic.
  • tablespoon of Ceylon Cinnamon.
  • Oil in a spray form.

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C).

2. Combine the flour, vegan cold salted butter, water, vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon sugar or cinnadust in a food processor. Begin mixing everything after 30 seconds have passed. Continue to scrape the edges as needed until a dough is formed.

If necessary, form the mixture into a ball by hand and feel free to incorporate additional flour, if needed. Form the mixture into a spherical shape and refrigerate for a quarter of an hour.

I enjoy splitting the dough in half and focusing on one half at a time. Store half of it in the refrigerator.

3. Position the dough piece between two parchment paper sheets or, alternatively, my recommended method is to place a silicone baking mat underneath and parchment paper on top.

4, Roll the dough out to a thickness of approximately ¼ inch using a rolling pin. Flatten it into a sizable rectangle shape. Using a knife, you can trim uneven ends to create a straight line. Give a light coating of spray oil followed by a generous topping of Cinnadust or cinnamon sugar.

5. To create squares, use either a pizza cutter or a knife to cut uniform rows and columns. Create these in any size you want. Cut them into squares that are at least 1 by 1 inch in size. Put them on a baking sheet that is either lined or non-stick.

If you require assistance lifting the pieces, use a knife to carefully slide underneath them. Do the same procedure with the leftover dough pieces and the other half of the dough.

6. After forming them all, bake in the oven for 12 minutes or until they turn golden and crispy.

7. Let them cool for 10 minutes before consuming to prevent them from becoming too hard. Increase the amount of spray oil and sprinkle more cinnamon sugar or Cinnadust to ensure thorough coating.

8. Savor right away by themselves or with a serving of non-dairy milk. Remember to drink all the remaining cinnamon-flavored milk by slurping it up.
