Samahan is a concentrated, water-soluble preparation of selected medicinal plants used over centuries in health care.
It belongs to the ancient remedy known in Sri Lanka as Peyava. The preparation consists of fourteen different herbal ingredients, some spices and condiments used in daily culinary preparations worldwide, and some known to assist the immune system.
Uses of Samahan Tea
Individual plant activities are combined to provide the best effect, covering a range of activities where some act as synergists, some as bio-enhancers, and some as natural preservatives stabilizing the product. Samahan effectively relieves the symptoms of the common cold, cough, headaches, body aches, and other catarrh-related ailments.
The preventive effect of Samahan can be due to the effect of the combination of plants. The activities covered are analgesic, antipyretic, expectorant, and anti-inflammatory, thus accounting for relieving the above indications.
