La savia natural de cocotero se utiliza para extraer el Azúcar de Coco Orgánico. Temprano por la mañana, se pica la flor de los cocoteros orgánicos y se recoge la savia líquida en recipientes. Posteriormente, la savia de coco se cuece hasta que se evapora la mayor parte del agua para crear nuestro Azúcar de Coco Orgánico.

Este envase de 170 g de azúcar de coco requiere 1,500 g de savia de coco para su elaboración. Si el clima lo permite, un extractor de coco puede extraer esta cantidad en un día para fabricar solo esta botella de 170 g por árbol. Por ello, los agricultores reciben la mayor parte del valor de nuestras ventas.

DRUERA's coconut sugar is made using traditional methods in Sri Lanka. Early each morning, the bloom of organically grown coconut palms is chopped and the liquid sap is collected in containers.

This fresh coconut sap is then slowly cooked until most of the water evaporates, leaving pure crystallized coconut sugar. The process is entirely natural with no refining—pure and straight out of nature.

Why does coconut sugar cost more than regular sugar?

Each 6 oz container of coconut sugar requires 54 oz of coconut sap to produce. Weather permitting, a skilled coconut tapper can only collect enough sap from one tree per day to make this single 6 oz bottle.

This labor-intensive, traditional harvesting process means farmers receive the major share of the sales price, you're paying for authentic craftsmanship and fair compensation for the harvesters, not industrial mass production.

How does coconut sugar compare to regular sugar nutritionally?

Coconut sugar has a lower Glycemic Index (GI) than regular table sugar, meaning it causes a slower rise in blood glucose levels.
