Dimbula is among the most celebrated tea-growing regions in the world, situated in Sri Lanka's central highlands at elevations between 3,500 and 5,000 feet.

The region's western mountain slopes experience a distinctive seasonal pattern where cold night winds and sunny days during the "quality season" (late January to early April) stress the tea plants in a way that concentrates their flavors.
